🌱 The Miracle of a Little Lemon Seed 🍋

July 4, 2026

Sprouted lemon seed growing in the palm of a hand, symbolizing healing after heartbreak and hope.

Healing After Heartbreak: The Miracle of a Little Lemon Seed

I experienced a quiet little miracle. About four months ago, I tucked a single lemon seed into a damp napkin. I wasn't sure if it would grow, but I believed it was worth trying. I planted it with hope. Every so often, I would add a little water, then life would carry me away again. I traveled, worked shows, cared for family, and sometimes forgot about it. There were days the napkin dried out completely.

There were even moments when it looked like nothing was happening at all.

Today, I gently unfolded the napkin, expecting very little. Instead, I found a tiny white root and the beginning of a green sprout. It had been growing all along.

I carefully planted it into the soil, and as I covered its tiny roots, I couldn't help but smile.

What a Lemon Seed Taught Me About Healing

That little seed reminded me of something we often forget:

Healing after heartbreak is often invisible before it becomes visible.

Nature doesn't rush. Seeds don't compare themselves to other trees. They simply keep reaching downward, building strong roots before reaching upward toward the light.

Healing is much the same.

Healing After Heartbreak Begins Beneath the Surface

Whether we're healing our bodies, our hearts, our relationships, or simply learning to trust ourselves again, the most important work often happens beneath the surface.

We may not see it right away.

But that doesn't mean nothing is happening.

Over the past several months, I've been walking my own path of healing after heartbreak. Like that little lemon seed, there were days when I questioned whether anything was changing at all. Yet beneath the surface, something inside me was quietly growing stronger.

At Journey to Venus, this is what I believe healing looks like.

It is choosing nourishing foods, one meal at a time.

It is making herbal remedies with intention.

It is stepping outside and placing your feet on the earth.

It is resting when your body asks for rest.

It is believing that every small act of care matters, even when the results aren't immediate.

Today, my tiny lemon tree reminded me that every great tree begins with a single seed that refuses to give up.

As I planted it into the earth, I found myself making a quiet promise:

  • To keep planting hope.

  • To keep tending my dreams.

  • To keep caring for my body.

  • To keep building this business with love.

One root at a time.

One leaf at a time.

One day at a time.

Maybe that's all healing really asks of us—to keep planting hope, even when we cannot yet see what is growing beneath the surface.

Wherever you are today, I hope you remember this:

You may feel like you're standing still, but perhaps you're simply growing roots.

And roots, though hidden, are what make everything else possible.

Have you ever had something in nature remind you that you were still growing? I'd love to hear your story in the comments.

With gratitude,

Nydia Castañeda
